I have some crazy news for you all...

I have decided to give away a

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE in 2015!!!

I know.. totally nuts. But I have been wanting to do something like this for a while now and this just felt like the right time. Sooooo if you or someone you know wants to enter, here's how:

To qualify to enter the giveaway you must;

• be getting married in 2015

• be located in the New England or New York area(travel and accommodation fees still apply)

If on Facebook, you must;

• like Jennifer Marcuson Beauty and Photography's business page
• hare the link with the contest details to your own page
• include in your repost of the contest details a note asking your friends to leave a comment beneath as to why they feel you deserve to win the giveaway

If on Instagram, you must;

• follow @jenniferlynnmarcuson
• ike the giveaway info post and tag two friends below it
• copy and repost the giveaway image with the tags @jenniferlynnmarcuson #jlmweddingphotogiveaway2015 with a note asking your friends to leave a comment beneath as to why they feel you should win the giveaway

Finally, all participants will be required to send an email to jennifer@jennifermarcuson.com including the following;

• names, ages, and location of the couple
• wedding details; date, location, inspiration or theme
• our story: how did you meet? the proposal?
• why is photography important to you?

Entries will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. EST on February 10th  2015, when I will be narrowing down the participants to the top three of my choice. I will then invite my mailing list, facebook, and instagram audiences to cast their votes for the couple they feel should win the giveaway! The winner will be announced at 12 noon EST on February 16th 2015.

Adventure Awaits...

It's easy to fall into the rut of the norm, the routine. And when adventure calls to us, we immediately start thinking we need to hop on a plane and fly somewhere far away to achieve it. But I promise you, adventure awaits you.. even in your back yard.

We felt like getting out of the city on Saturday, so we decided to take a ride out to Baie-Saint-Paul..  just about 45 minutes from our house. This little beach is one of my favorite places in Quebec, and I swear it's just as beautiful, if not more so in the winter than in the summer. The girls were in heaven sliding all over the ice. I could have stayed there for hours looking out over the frozen seaway(if it weren't for the -17 degree temperatures)! But even just an hour there, I felt so refreshed.. a complete change of scenery, no one around but me and my little family embracing the wonder of mother nature. 

I dare you to find some adventure this week.. look around you and see things a bit differently, and when you catch yourself going, 'oh wouldn't that be fun.. but I don't have time, or it's too cold, or I should get home and make dinner'.. stop. And do it, whatever it is. You deserve it.

A glass of champagne, and we hit the road like teenagers to catch the last of the sun over the Saint Lawrence. Sometimes a little adventure with friends is all you need to conquer the -20 degree insanity that we call winter here in Quebec. 

2014 Round Up and Confessional...

I am confessing. I was a TERRIBLE blogger in 2014. I just went through all of the shoots I did this past year and realized I didn't share more than half of them here!! I suppose with Facebook and Instagram, it's easy to fall out of the blogging loop. But the truth is I like blogging. I love to write. It has always been a huge source of sanity for my wild, constantly moving mind. I started journaling when I was 6 years old and still have all of my old diaries from my childhood. Maybe I'll even share them with you someday.. eeeeekk I don't know about that.

Anyway, I am starting off my 2015 here by a little wrap up of some of my favorite images from 2014 and a promise to be more present here in this coming year. There are a lot of really awesome things in store here at Jennifer Marcuson Photography this year. I feel like it's gonna be a good one...
